Boatcare (“we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and when you use our services. This policy explains what we use and how you can control your preferences.

Essential and strictly necessary

To run the site and keep you signed in, we use local storage (browser storage, not HTTP cookies) for the following. These are necessary for the service to function and are not optional.

• Authentication: We store an access token, refresh token, and a copy of your user profile (e.g. email, roles) so you stay logged in and so the site can call our API on your behalf. The keys we use are pm_access_token, pm_refresh_token, and pm_user.
• Cookie consent preference: We store your choice (“Accept all” or “Essential only”) under the key pm_cookie_consent so we do not show the consent banner again until you clear site data or change your choice.

We do not use HTTP cookies for session or auth on the website; authentication is handled via the above local storage and our API.

Optional and analytics

We do not currently use optional or analytics cookies on the Boatcare website. If we introduce them in the future (e.g. analytics or preference cookies), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent again.

How to change or withdraw consent

You can change your cookie preference at any time:

• Clear your browser’s local storage for this site to remove the stored preference; the consent banner will appear again on your next visit, and you can choose “Essential only” or “Accept all”.
• Choosing “Essential only” in the banner means we only keep the strictly necessary storage described above (auth and your consent choice). We do not use optional cookies at present.
